VIOLENCE HAS MANY FACES

The Union of Women Organizations of Macedonia (SOZM) will be involved in the “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” Global Campaign, under the motto “Violence has Many Faces!” The 2006 campaign is implemented by the SOS Phone for youth working with the National Women Council of Macedonia.
The period between November 25 and December 11 covers the international days of fight against gender based violence, while SOZM, as a national network of women NGOs, member of the Global Women Council and observing member of the European Women Lobby, takes active participation in this global campaign, through the organization of national level activities.
During the campaign, 40 public debates and discussions are planned, on the topic “What is Sexual Harassment?” (the debate will include the young population between 14 and 21 years of age, the employees in textiles and other industries), in Skopje, Probistip, Stip, Kocani, Gevgelija, Debar, Gostivar, Ohrid, Krivogastani, Kumanovo, Prilep and Struga; as well as series of debates dedicated to young people from rural areas, on the topic “How to Recognize Sexual Harassment and Its Prevention”.
