President Gjorge Ivanov sent note of congratulations Sunday to Barack Obama on the US Independence Day, extending best wishes for prosperity and welfare of American state and people.
I use the opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of the Republic of Macedonia to nourishing the traditional friendship with the United States, as well as to its full-fledged NATO membership, where we shall keep building our in numerous occasions proven partnership, Ivanov say in his note.
He also praises the US engagement in realizing the objectives both countries have been aspiring to, such as the efforts for global peace, security, economic prosperity and democracy.
The joint engagement of armed forces in international peace missions demonstrates the strong commitment of both countries to combating international terrorism, the note reads.
Ivanov also extends gratitude to Obama, US on their support of Macedonia's EU, NATO accession processes, saying that Skopje has been taking active, constructive part in the process for reaching mutually acceptable solution to the name dispute with Greece the only obstacle to Macedonia's EU, NATO membership.
We believe that you will keep supporting Macedonia, so that the country could take the place its deserves in the North-Atlantic Alliance, which is in favour of everybody, Ivanov says.
