MACEDONIAN ARTISTS IN BELGRADE
Culture.
Young Macedonian artists Jana Jakimovska, Klimentina Jaulevska and Matej Bogdanovski presented their work at the Cherish Art Centre in Belgrade during January within an International Art Caravan 2005-2010, “All That Music – Sound of Colour, Colour of Sound.” They first presented a part of their work in a chamber exhibition of paintings and sculptures along with Serbian artists Vlatka Kavalir – Zugic, Zoran Zugic, Radomir Branisavljevic and Mihajlo Mlinar, and then in a show where they presented individually their works created in an organized art colony.
“The two shows had good response, and under the agreement with the Cherish each of us left three works that we created there. This was the opportunity to meet some of the Serbian artists, to see their art stage,” Klementina Jauleska, student of the fourth year at the Faculty of Fine Art said.
For Jana Jakimovska, the participation in the Belgrade art colony was a challenge to measure one’s own merits beyond their own country. “When you are outside, you have the opportunity to see who you are and how much your art work is valued, to meet new people, feel new senses,” Jakimovska said.
Bogdanovski is also happy with his second presentation of works in Belgrade, organized by collector Tihomir Konden, the organizer of the International Art Caravan.
The caravan will present 40 works by Macedonian and Serbian artists at the Leonardo Art Centre in Belgrade on 23rd February.
MD: Macedonia is very active in cultural events abroad at the moment. Keep it going!
