National.

Representatives of 49 countries will participate at the NATO Security Forum scheduled for 28-29 June, 2007 in Ohrid, Macedonia.

Besides the NATO Secretary General Jaap De Hoop Scheffer, who will chair the Forum, about 800 state officials, civilians and journalists are expected to attend the event.

Bernd A Goetze, the Secretary of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council, said that forthcoming NATO Forum will provide Macedonia with a good chance for promotion.

The Minister without Portfolio, Andnan Qahil, said the Forum represents a test for Macedonia's maturity to join NATO.

Qahil announced that unprecedented security measures will be undertaken to ensure that this important political summit goes smoothly. He said that up to 5.000 police officers might be engaged for this purpose.

Ohrid's Mayor Aleksandar Petrovski unveiled plans for improvement of the infrastructure.

Representatives of the Macedonian Government and of NATO will sign today a memorandum on organization of the NATO Security Forum.
