BULGARIA NON-EMANCIPATED TO COMPREHEND MACEDONIAN IDENTITY
Regional.
Bulgaria is not emancipated to hammer out the Macedonian identity issue, said Stefan Vlahov Mitsov, Bulgarian historian and philosopher, and also a former director of Macedonian Culture Center in Sofia.
"If you want to see the truth about the Macedonian identity, you must be emancipated at any aspect and you must pay attention to the facts and you must look beyond the facts. You must ask yourself how such facts have emerged, as may of these facts had been created under political and economic pressure," Vlahov Mitsov said at today's meeting with readers attending the Book Fair in Skopje.
Commenting the history-related manipulations, Vlahov Mitsov criticized Bulgarian authorities for not allowing the representatives of Macedonian minority in Bulgaria to place wreath at Jane Sandanski's tomb at Rozhen.
Vlahov Mitsko qualified as provocation the statements and reactions of Bulgarian politician Krasimir Karakachanov. Namely, a two-meter-high plate was set up in front of Sandanski's tomb upon Karakachanov's initiative. Karakachanov claims that Sandanski had fought for liberation of Bulgarian Macedonia.
Vlahov Mitsov is wondering "Is it possible to set up a propaganda monument next to grave?"
MD: The visit of the Macedonians to place a wreath on the tomb went without any incidents though.
