SIX COMPANIES BID FOR FOURTH MOBILE OPERATOR

National.

Six companies have confirmed they are considering bidding for 4th mobile operator in Macedonia.

According to a statement released today by the Electronic Communications Agency (AEK), six companies are likely to bid for mobile telephony operating license. The agency published a public notice for 4th mobile operator one month ago, upon request of the government.

"Among the companies that have submitted a letter of interest, two are Macedonia-based and four of potential bidders are foreign companies," the Agency said.

The public notice, published last month, said the government will task the AEK to launch bidding for 4th mobile operator.

Mobilkom Austria recently won the international tender for Macedonia's 3rd mobile operator license. Mobilkom was the sole bidder. According to license requirements, it will have to launch commercial operations six months after receiving its license.

MD: Mobilkom Austria just got in Macedonia and now again another company, let's hope prizes are going to drop because of this.
