WIN FOR THE LIONS AGAINT THE KNIGHTS

Sports.

Macedonian Australian football club, Preston Lions reclaimed their rightful position on top of the table as a crowd of three thousand witnessed the Preston Lions disposing of its former NSL rival the Melbourne Knights in round sixteen of the Foxtel Cup (VPL) at BT Connor Reserve.

The lions scored the first goal in the opening minutes of the match as former Macedonian international Blaze Georgioski pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted in past the helpless Knights keeper. Georgioski was in the thick of it again just twenty minutes later as his pass from the wing found Zoran Petrovski in the box, his shoot was deflected by the keeper but went straight to the feet of Preston forward John Sapazovski who calmly tapped the ball in the give the Lions a handy two goal lead.

Next week the Preston Lions Football Club meet its neighbour the Fawkner Blues in round seventeen of the Foxtel Cup (VPL) on Sunday 1st of July at 3.00pm at CB Smith Reserve

MD: Bravo to the Lions, they've again extended their unbeaten streak to 14 matches!
