FIRST OFFICIAL MACEDONIAN HOCKEY MATCH

The newly formed field hockey federation of Macedonia has organised it's first official hockey match, planned for this Saturday in the Biljanini Izvori hall in Ohrid. The opponents of the Macedonian national hockey team will be representatives of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Skopje.
The Netherlands Embassy actively encourages the initiators of field hockey in Macedonia. It is organizing concrete support through field hockey clubs in the Netherlands, the Dutch Field Hockey Federation and the commercial sector. This first friendly game has been organized to promote the new sport in Macedonia.
Along many invited guests, the game will also be attended by several diplomats and the ambassador of the Netherlands, Simone Filipini.
"I am looking forward to this sportive challenge, marking the beginning of what I hope will be a series of Dutch-Macedonian field hockey encounters! Knowing the excellent physical condition of our Macedonian friends, we will have to put our best foot forward in February. " ,Filipini said.
The game will start at 12.00
MD: Nice! Hockey has a long tradition in the Netherlands, the Dutch male team is ranked 4th in the world and has won the WC 3 times, while the Womens team is ranked first in the world and having a record with the WC title won 6 times! It will be hard, even if they aren't professionals. We'll see if the debut can be celebrated with a victory!
