GRUEVSKI: WE LEAVE WITH FAITH

Republic of Macedonia expects a NATO membership invitation at the Alliance Summit, despite the fact there is no positive signal by Greece following its threat to use the veto, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski before his departure for Bucharest.
"Despite the fact there is no positive signal from our southern neighbor Greece, we leave with faith and hope that justice will prevail, and that the Republic of Macedonia will obtain the NATO membership invitation", stated PM Gruevski.
He stressed that Macedonian citizens should be proud on everything that has been done in the past, on all temptations they have gone through, the perseverance.
"We have come to a situation when 26 NATO member-states gladly say that the country is ready, having met all standards, obligations and reforms, to become a part of the Alliance", added Gruevski.
He said that up till now, Greece has not confirmed that it would support the invitation, and even its arguments are not related to what Macedonia has done in the past period.
"Regardless of the outcome, I want to thank everybody for what they have done thus far. I leave with faith and hope of success, in order to valorize the efforts of all prior governments", underlined Prime Minister Gruevski.
Gruevski is accompanied in Bucharest by Vice Premier Zoran Stavreski, Health Minister Imer Selmani, director of the Security and Counter-Intelligence Directorate Saso Mijalkov, and Cabinet Head Martin Protuger.
