"I AM FROM TITOV VELES" MACEDONIAN OSCAR CANDIDATE

“I Am from Titov Veles” of Teona Strugar-Mitevska, produced by “Sisters and Brother Mitevski” is Macedonia’s candidate for the 2009 “Oscar”, announced the Association of Film Workers.
The film was completed last year, but the production house decided not to run in 2008 due to the strong competition, when “Shadows” of Milco Mancevski was selected.
“I Am from Titov Veles” had its premiere at the Rotterdam Festival, and was the first Macedonian film selected for the Berlin Film Festival. It has toured at a number of world festivals, winning over 20 awards. The film was projected in two programs at the Cannes Film Festival, and selected for the European Oscar “Felix”.
