The Macedonian government is holding on to a luxury handmade Mercedes car that once belonged to former Yugoslav communist leader Josip Broz Tito and refuses to sell it back to the manufacturer.
German company Mercedes Benz has offered the government three cars from its latest series in exchange for the limousine.
Known for his passion for luxury, Tito had ordered a specially made Mercedes to be stationed in each of the six Yugoslav republics.
He also had Rolls Royces and Cadillacs, yachts and luxury villas in different locations across Yugoslavia.
