FOUERE TO STAY UNTIL MARCH
The EU Special Representative in Macedonia Ervan Fuere will officially get a new mandate on September 15, the Macedonian media has informed.
According to unofficial information, the EU mission in Macedonia would be prolonged with six months - until March 2010, not for a year as it was the case up to now.
There is no information whether the mission would be prolonged again in March. One of the main tasks of the Special Representative is to observe the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement.
Local media informs that the mission of EU Special Representative has caused informal conflict between the Macedonian government and Brussels. According to unofficial information, Macedonia wants the mission to end, as the Ohrid Agreement has already been implemented.
