MACEDONIANS IN BULGARIA

Regional.

Macedonia expects from the Bulgarian government to respect the decisions made by the European Human Rights Court in Strasbourg. This was the reaction of the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in relation to the actions of the authorities in Sofia towards the Macedonian organization in Bulgaria, "OMO Ilinden – Pirin".

"The Republic of Macedonia does not consider this issue interference in the home affairs of a particular country, nor does Macedonia consider this a political or historical issue. This is about the principle question for the protection of the human rights”, said Spresa Jusufi, Spokesman of the Macedonian Foreign Ministry.

According to Iliana Slavovska, a prosecutor from Sofia, there were serious violations of the registration procedure and this was the reason for her to propose for the party to be denied registration. “It was found that a large part of the declarations of the founders of the party were not filled personally by the declarators”, Slavovska said. According to her, this matter concerns violation of the rights of citizens and must be investigated.

MD: Still hasn't been solved, and the time is running, just a little while and Bulgaria is an official EU member, it's better for all of us, that this will be solved before they enter the EU, otherwise we'll might get the same as with Greece.
