ITALY: NO STOP OF EU ENLARGEMENT

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Italy, Donatino Marcon, said during the hand over of the credentials to the Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski that Italy supports Macedonian and Croatian membership to the EU and that the EU cannot stop the process of enlargement for Macedonia and Croatia because it would be like the EU has stopped everything.
He added that it was and still is Italy's position.
According to Donatino Marcon, the Balkan countries are a integral part of Europe and the enlargement process will be completed when they become members of the European Union.
"I believe Italian companies and businessmen will find interest for cooperation and investments in Macedonia, especially now, when our country is making big steps towards creating a favorable environment for attracting foreign investments", Macedonian president Branko Crvenkovski said at the ceremony yesterday.
