BITOLCANEC FORMS AVIO COMPANY FOR TONGA KING

Diaspora.

The parents of Stefan Stefanovski from the Aglarci village in Bitolsko had never thought their son would be a pilot and their grandchildren too. At the moment, Stefan Stefanovski is finding himself at the top of the world's Broker house in New York where he can form a avio company when and where he wants at any moment.

Stefan started this bussines 10 years ago when he helped to form the National Aviation company of the Phillipines, for whom he bought 6 airplanes. Soon he started forming avio companies for other countries too. The king of Tonga, a tiny little country in the Hawaii area, has hired him to form a aviocompanie with 3 airplanes.

"In the royal palace of Tonga we talked about it, came to an agreement and in not even a year i brought 3 boeings which i gave to the king", said Stefan , the pilot from Aglarci. However there was a problem, "Because the people of Tonga are the most biggest people on earth, we had to make bigger seats for the plane, and for the king, as the biggest, we had to make a special cabin. The people of Tonga are very kind and warm people, so is the king and his son," he added.

After that Stefan got a call from the king of Kambodja, Norodon Sihanuh, for whom he got 3 boeings too. Then he went to Western Samoa , where he also brought planes, formed a aviocompany and even to teach future pilots.

"Even in the first moment you meet with these kings, you can feel their power. To do bussines with these men is very hard. They allways know what they want and untill where they can go. He will sign his signature on the deal and there is no other way possible" Stefanovski said.

In 1957 Stefan finished his education at the JAT Pilot school and became a pilot of a DC-9 airplane, two years later he got a boeing and made his first big flight, from Belgrade to Sydney. After the fall of Jugoslavija because of his big rating at JAT, opened his doors to fly for the Moroccan royal airlines. After that he got an offer by MAT and returned to Macedonia.

Now he lives with his wife, Lidija, who is an air controller and his 2 sons and daughter in Brisbane, Australia. His sons allready finished the pilot academy and followed in their fathers footsteps while Stefan is working for Singapore Airlines. "I am probably the only pilot who does not live in Singapore but do fly for Singapore Airlines"
