MACEDONIA WILL ENTER EUROPEAN COMMUNITY FUNDS

Macedonia is definitely entering EC culture and multimedia funds. State Secretary of Culture Elizabeta Milevska-Kanceska informed that the government has decided to make culture a priority in using these funds.
Experts of Croatia, which has gone far in using such funds and Austria visited Skopje and presented the EC project and ways of applying for European culture funds. This applies to the Culture Programme the EC adopted for the 2007-2013 period, as well as for all those dealing with culture: government-run and non-government institutions and individuals.
“In Brussels, we forwarded a letter of interest and an answer followed instructing us to delegate two Macedonian representatives in the two funds - for culture and media respectively. Biljana Prentovska and Jovanka Gjorgevska have been delegated. We are soon expecting to receive a memorandum of understanding from Brussels, following which Macedonia can officially use the funds programmes,” Kanceska said.
