MACEDONIAN MUSIC, FILMS AND PHOTOGRAPHS IN POLAND
Culture.
Vlatko Stefanovski Trio, ethno-structure “Srma”, photographer Ivan Blazev will take part at the first festival of Macedonian culture, held in several Polish cities on June 8-11. The four-day manifestation is organized by association “Eastern Perspective”, which traditionally prepares festivals dedicated to eastern and southern European cultures.
“We decided on Macedonia – a country still unknown in Poland, but at the same time rich with cultural heritage, wonderful monuments hidden in the mountains, monasteries and churches. Poland has not hosted a manifestation related to the more popular Balkan culture. We want to contribute in the building of relations of trust and understanding”, say association officials.
Stefanovski and his trio will hold concerts in Warsaw, Krakow, Vroclav and Gdina, performing a number of rock and jazz adaptations of Macedonian folk songs.
Band “Srma” from Kumanovo will hold concerts of ethno-music, while the film program is to include a Week of Macedonian Film, presenting feature, TV and documentary movies.
Moreover, photographer Blazev will display his recent work in Krakow, while Samir Ljuma from Tetovo and Polish artist Elzibeta Zak will exhibit photographs from Macedonia.
The festival will also present the country’s natural wealth, while several restaurants in Kracow, Vroclav and Warsaw will organize dinners for tasting of Macedonian food and beverages.
MD: Great initiative! Maybe we can count on some Polish tourists in the future too.
