National.
The First Children's embassy in the World "Megjashi" warns against the high level of child labor abuse in Macedonia.
In a statement issued on the occasion of 12 June- International Anti-Child Labor Day, Megjashi says that as much as 18.000 children are not included in the education system in Macedonia, while 1.000 are spending their childhood on the street, living with no roof over their heads, parental care or guidance.
There are minors of all nationalities spending their days on the streets across Macedonia, however, most of them (58%) are members of the Roma population.
According to Megjashi's latest data, as many as 15.5 percent of them are pre-school age, 64 percent are 7 to 14-year-old. 88.5 percent of all of them display anti-social behavior. Official data say that 185 million out of a total of 246 million children throughout the world whose labor is abused by adults, are aged under 15.
MD: Megjashi is doing a great job being the first childrens embassy in the world. Keep up the good work!
