MACEDONIAN TERRA COTTA ICONS IN CROATIA

An exhibition of terra cotta icons, “Macedonian Christian Roots” has opened in Gjakovo, Croatia. The Museum of Macedonia show is set within an event, “Days of Miladinovski Brothers,” traditionally organized by the Association of Macedonian Croats in the town of Jurij Strosmaer, the man who helped publication of the famous Anthology of Folk Sayings by the two brothers.
Replicas of 27 Vinica terra cottas dating back to the 6th and 7th centuries are displayed. They depict scenes from the Old Testament, Christian symbols and images of saints. The author of the show is Cone Krstevski, Custodian Advisor at the Museum of Macedonia.
