Macedonian Australian football club Preston Lions are this year's Foxtel Cup champions. Preston has completed a fairytale season with a resounding 3-1 victory over Whittlesea in the Foxtel Cup Grand Final.
A crowd of more than 5,000 was on hand in perfect conditions to see Preston claim their third Foxtel Cup-Premier League championship.
Tony Sterjovski was omni-present for the Lions, as was Zoran Petrevski who's brace earned him the Jimmy Rooney Medal for best on ground.
MD: Congratulations lions! What a great season for them and we think we can all be very proud as Macedonians to see this happen.

Provocation?? MD and Preton Lions site included pictures where some of the fans hold banners with the so-called Vergina Sun. That is a contraversial symbol and used 'ethnically'. In 1994 it was agreed that in Australian football, the VPL clubs would abolish any ethnicity associated with their club names.
The Australian 'Greek' based team urges its fans "FANS PLEASE NOTE : South Melbourne FC does not in any way condone the use and lighting of flares and the display of ethnic flags at football matches. The club asks that supporters respect this request".
