On Friday, high school seniors from Macedonia and five other countries broke the Guinness world record for largest simultaneous French Quadrille dance.
The organizers of world-breaking event, said at least 26.924 teens danced at the exact same time in multiple locations, breaking the previous record of 23.628 dancers. The quadrille is dance with four couples, arranged in the shape of a square, with each couple facing the center of that square.
Around 1.000 high school seniors in Skopje and other cities across Macedonia as well as in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Hungary performed the eight-minute quadrille dance with Johan Strauss' opera.
Skopje hosts the world-breaking event for the second time.
The first simultaneous dance of high school seniors took place in Slovenia in 2001, and it turned into annual event in a number of cities and countries.
