AUSTRALIAN COMPANY IN SEARCH FOR URANIUM
Australian Mining Company "Universal Mining" based in Perth is visiting Macedonia. The company is the largest exporter of Uranium in Western Austrlia.
Honorary Macedonian Consul to Australia, Zoran Kjoseski accompanied the businessmen in Prilep. "Universal Mining's" sole business is mining, specifically uranium. They have already been informed of Uranium presence in Mariovo, however they also believe there is uranium in eastern Macedonia as well. The company has submitted their requests for research to the Ministry of Economy," said Kjoseski.
Mariovo's Uranium rich mountains were popular with the Yugoslav Secret Service back in the 1950's. The Project lasted three years and ended under the veil of secrecy. Macedonian authorities have no knowledge what was discovered and or how much uranium is there. All documentation regarding the project was taken to the "Vinca" Nuclear Institute in Belgrade.
The Australian businessmen have already created a mixed Macedonian - Austrlian Company named "Mak Red River Resources", and have started exploration for various minerals at Sopotnica, near Demir Hisar.
