OVER 70 PASTRY POISONING CASES

The number of patients suffering food poisoning symptoms climbed to 73, including 16 children, A1 TV Station cited medical sources as saying.

According to representatives of the Skopje Infectious Disease Clinic, as many as 13 patients have been retained for medical treatment due to dehydration as a consequence of severe poisoning.

The patients manifest high fever, diarrhea, and stomach pain accompanied by vomiting. The poisoning was most likely caused by the bacteria salmonella or staphylococcus.

All the patients have pointed out at the pastry shop Rinija, located in Skopje's Old Bazaar, as the source of the infection, A1 said.

Most of them live in the Skopje's Districts of Lisice and Cair.
