SLOVENIA TELECOM TO BUY COSMOFON?
National.
Slovenia Telecom said it wants to buy Cosmofon, the second mobile and landline telephony operator in Macedonia.
Slovenia Telecom said now they are focused on the announced sellout of Cosmofon.
Cosmofon, a subsidiary of Greek OTE, is likely to be put on sale in February or March next year due to protection for the competition, after Deutsche Telecom acquired 25% of OTE," Slovenia Telecom spokeswoman Darinka Pavlic-Kamien said.
Slovenia Telecom launched talks with a number of banks to secure EUR 400 million loan for the purpose of planned takeovers in the region of the former Yugoslavia.
Besides Cosmofon buy, Slovenia Telecom is interested in the take-over of majority shares in Bosnian telecom operator BH Telecom, and is also seeking opportunity to incest in Croatia.
Slovenia Telecom is the largest landline, mobile and internet operator in Slovenia, with market capitalization set at 951.4 million euros.
