1,821 ILLEGAL WORKER IN THE COUNTRY

Macedonia’s State Labor Inspectorate has carried out 259 inspections in Skopje, Ohrid and Struga and discovered 1,821 unregistered workers at 191 companies. It also detected irregularities in working hours, the payment of wages, receipts for paid-out wages and annual vacations.

167 workers without lacking the necessary documentation were found at 67 companies. Inspectors also detected irregularities in terms of health and safety and issued 51 orders with deadlines for the removal of these irregularities, as well as 12 working bans at construction sites because of a lack of occupational safety measures.
