INTERROGATION OF 6000 OMO ILINDEN PIRIN MEMBERS
Regional.
The Bulgarian authorities have confirmed yesterday that they will interrogate 6000 OMO "ilinden" Pirin members.
"Upon the order issued by the Sofia's Prosecution Office, all 6.000 members of OMO "Ilinden" PIRIN are to be interrogated", said Kiril Georgiev the Blagoevgrad's Police Commissioner.
"The aim of the questioning is to determine whether those persons put their signatures personally themselves, in what conditions and if they knew what they were signing. However, the questioning is carried out upon order of the Sofia's Prosecution Office", he told Focus news agency.
"By interrogating and intimidating our members, the police seek to scare our members into backing out of their memberships. This is an explicit attempt to destroy our party, and to make impossible our bid for registration. This shows the firm determination by the Bulgarian state to use all means, including violation of human rights and it own laws, to prevent the registration of our Party," the OMO Ilinden party said in a statement.
