WILD BASKETBALL BRAWL

Regional.

A massive brawl broke out Wednesday between fans from two Serbian basketball teams and a Greek team at a game in Serbia. Police tried to intervene, but could do little to stop the masses as flares and chairs were thrown accross the stadium.

Four fans and two police officers were injured during the wild brawl before the basketball game between Red Star Belgrade and PAOK Thessaloniki. The fighting broke out at the ULEB Cup game after fans of Red Star's local rival, Partizan, showed up to support the visiting Greek team.

About 100 Partizan fans and a few dozen PAOK supporters fought several hundred Red Star fans in the stands and on the court at the Pionir Sports Hall in the Serbian capital.
