FOLKLORISTS FROM THE GLOBE COME TOGETHER IN OHRID

Delegates from 43 member-states of the International Council of Organizations for Folklore Festivals and Folk Art (CIOFF) will take part at the annual congress in Ohrid on May 3-6. Macedonian culture and tradition will be presented before guests from France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, South Africa etc.
Macedonia hosts the 37th congress of CIOFF, which deals with study of protection and revival of traditional folklore values in the fields of music-stage work, costumes, architecture, traditional crafts.
The main topic at the congress is the manner and criteria of organizing folklore festivals worldwide. CIOFF has existed for 37 years, including 137 member-states. Macedonia has participated since 1994, while its national section is comprised of 25 ensembles.
