GRUEVSKI ACCLAIMS CANADA'S DECISION

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Thursday acclaimed Canada's decision to recognize the constitutional name of Macedonia, calling that "a great piece of news".
"We were informed yesterday by our Embassy in Canada that the country has recognized the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name", Gruevski said.
He pointed out that "this is a good thing for our country, because Canada is one of the most important and strong countries in the world, that we have excellent relations with and where many Macedonians live".
More than 100 countries have recognized the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name so far.
