Here some facts; A total of 76,9 percent of households in Macedonia used fixed telephone lines in the first quarter of 2007, 78 percent used mobile phones, 47,1 percent were connected to cable TV, 33,2 percent used personal computers, while 16,5 percent have Internet access at home, show results of survey on use of information-communication technologies, conducted by State Statistical Office in April.
Of the households with Internet access, 45,7 percent used dial-up connection, 16,2 percent mobile phone with WAP and GPRS, while 3,2 percent used ISDN. A total of 21 percent used Internet through DSL/ADSL technologies, 20,8 percent via cable modem, 1,2 percent over a mobile phone, while 1,5 percent over another broadband connection.
Survey results show that 67,7 percent of the total population between the ages of 15 and 74 used mobile phones in the first quarter of 2007, 40,9 percent used computers, while 29,7 percent of Macedonian citizens used Internet.
