EC PRESENTED OUTLINES OF REPORT ON MACEDONIA

National.

The outlines of the European Commission's Progress Report on Macedonia were presented to a high Macedonian official in Brussels today, the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA) with the Macedonian Government announced.

Deputy Prime Minister Gabriela Konevska-Trajkovska met Wednesday with the EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn and with European Commission Director for Enlargement Michael Lee, the announcement says, revealing no details as to the contents of the EC's draft-report.

"The highlights of the talks included exchange of opinions on the achieved progress in meeting of the political and economic criteria for membership as well as in harmonization of the national with the EU legislation", SEA announced after the meetings.

"Macedonia expects from the European Commission to come up with an objective report that will reflect the situation realistically and will point out at the areas that need further improvement", SEA announced.

On 6 November, the European Commission is due to adopt the package of documents including enlargement strategy, individual reports on the progress of the country-candidates and potential candidates for membership, a new accession partnership and indication document on planning of EU assistance.
