Purchasing power of Macedonians is Euro 2,069 per capital, thus putting the country on the 35th spot among 40 European countries ranked according to their purchasing power, shows study on purchasing power of European citizens, carried out by German institute GfK. Macedonia is followed by Bosnia&Herzegovina (Euro 2,033), Belarus (Euro 1,764), Albania (Euro 1,599), Ukraine (Euro 1,487) and Moldova (Euro 685).
Purchasing power of Croatian citizens amounts to Euro 4,565 per capita, while the purchasing power of Serbia's population is Euro 3,722.
The European average is Euro 11,998 per capital, the wealthiest being Switzerland with Euro 27,521 per capita, followed by Luxembourg (Euro 27,395), Norway (Euro 24,993), Ireland (Euro 22,207), and Denmark (Euro 21,521).
Parts of Central and Eastern Europe show growth, whereas certain regions have even overtaken the Western European neighbors.
