The special envoy Matthew Nimetz in the name talks between Macedonia and Greece on Monday in Skopje "heard many ideas and saw the position regarding the draft framework" that he offered at the last round of talks in New York.
"The issue is not easy to solve. The position of the two sides is known, but it is a good thing that there is will to overcome the problem", Nimetz said after meeting with Macedonian state leaders in Skopje.
He added that he is satisfied with the meeting, which, according to him, was a very important one.
When asked by journalists whether the talks in New York, the meeting in Skopje and tomorrow's meeting in Athens are the last attempt to overcome the dispute, Nimetz said that there is no last round until the issue is solved.
According to him, about the question whether there is progress in this issue, the progress is the fact that discussions are led and efforts are intensified to find a solution.
Nimetz on Monday met with chief of Macedonian state Branko Crvenkovski, prime minister Nikola Gruevski, chief of diplomacy Antonio Miloshoski and Macedonian name negotiator Nikola Dimitrov.
According to Macedonian state representatives, the position of the Republic of Macedonia is that it is prepared to continue constructive talks with Greece under UN sponsorship, but it doesn't accept use of international name different from the constitutional one.

Athens is now saying that Skopje can keep the term Makedonija in its constitutional name. That is a huge change in its policy. It points out that since Macedonia is a geographical region it needs a geographic qualitative.
