HEAVY PROTEST IN FRONT OF GREEK EMBASSY

A group of about 1000 demonstrators in the capital Skopje, protested against the Macedonian - Greek name issue yesterday. The protest started at the Macedonia square but the mass was soon heading in front of the Greek embassy in Skopje, demonstrating against the Greek position in the issue.
The big crowd started to throw rocks at the embassy building which lead to clashes with the police. They strengthened the security in front of the embassy and the crowd was moved away from the embassy.
Afterwards the crowd returned to the Macedonia square where they protested with songs and dances. No serious accidents happened.
The motto of the protest was "We don't give up our name" and was organised by the "Mladite znaat" organisation. The organisation has stated that they condemn every form of violence. They said that violence is not in the interest of the national interests and patriotic feelings should be expressed in a respectful way.

Today they are throwing rocks against the Greeks. The media reaction in Skopje was positive to the perpetrators and it only encourages them to one day k+++ Greeks.

Your article doesn't mention the fact that the crowd assaulted several journalists that were covering the events just for being Greek. This is understandable given the racist undertones of the demonstration were there was chanting of antihellenic abuseand ultranationalist slogans like "fucking Greeks we will conquer Thessalonica".
The article further fails to mention that the assault on the Greek embassy was organized by an NGO named "Youth Knows" or some such silliness.
Funnily enough these guys seem to actually be proud of themselves! and have posted their records of the assault on YouTube.

fizjo... please be quiet, you dont sound like a Greek. The Greek media expressed some concern for the violence because it targeted Greeks and Greek personel cars, but it stated that it was just a small group. In all democracies there are hooligans, including Skopje and Athens.

Update: A demonstration planned by nationalists in Athens infront of the Macedonian embassy has been denied permission by Athens municipal authorities. Proof, if proof were needed, that Greece can rise above the petty provocations of its varvaroi neighbours. Well done Greece.
