AUSTRIAN UNIQA ENTERS MACEDONIA

The Uniqa Group, one of Austria's leading insurance groups, announced investment plans in Macedonia's insurance market and hinted at a possibility for construction of out-patient clinics.

Uniqa Group Austria acquired a 45.6% stake in Albanian Sigal Holding, in which Sigal Macedonia is also a member.

"Macedonia is a market of huge potentials for development of insurance business, Macedonia is in the heart of South-East Europe and according to our analysis, it will soon become one of the fastest growing insurance markets," said Andreas Brandstetter, member of Uniqa Board of Directors.

Brandstetter said in the next few months the company will examine the need and the possibilities to invest in the construction of out-patient clinics to provide health services for citizens with insurance policies issued by Uniqa.

Uniqa is one of the leading insurance companies in Central and Eastern Europe. The company is currently active as a European insurance group in 20 regioanl markets. employs around 17.500 people and it is present in more than 20 countries.
