CONSTRUCTION OF MUSEUM ON WATER BEGINS IN OHRID
Culture.
The Museum on Water at Ohrid site Gradiste will be a tourist attraction for us and foreigners, who will be able to see civilization in this region from thousands years ago, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski at the cornerstone laying ceremony of the settlement of Bronze times, dating from 1,200-600 B.C.
“Macedonia is an ancient country and has much to show to the world”, added PM Gruevski.
According to director of the Office for Cultural Heritage Protection, Pasko Kuzman, the museum represents a return of prehistory in present times.
“Citizens will have the opportunity to walk through time, from prehistory up to the Roman period, from the Museum on Water to the Roman camp revealed nearby”, said Kuzman.
The Museum on Water will be set at a platform, connected with a 15-meter bridge. The platform will include 7-8 cabins. The project is to be completed by the beginning of December, and will cost abut Euro 2 million, allocated from the country’s budget
