POSITIVE AND CORRECT ELECTION PROCESS
The State Election Commission announced Sunday that 43.116 out of 161.669 voters have voted by 13:00 hours and voter turnout is 30,8%. Two weeks ago the voter turnout was 28,28% by 13:00h and 25,56% at 2006 parliamentary elections.
SEC President Jovan Josifovski at the press conference said that the highest voter turnout is 29,35% i.e. 25,660 voters in election district (ED) 6, 9,157 voters i.e. 36,8% in ED 2 and 8,299 voters i.e. 27,82% in ED 2.
SEC assesses the election process as positive and correct. SEC and other institutions created good grounds aimed at citizens to exercise their right to vote, Josifovski.
SEC President said that several persons who stuffed 10 ballots into the ballot boxes in Tetovo region have been arrested and added that there is no danger of misuse because each ballot has the number of the polling station.
He said that the cooperation with the Municipal Election Commission in Saraj has been significantly improved since morning. Five SEC members went in Saraj and misunderstandings between the President and members of Municipal Election Commission have been surpassed.
Josifovski said that election process is being conducted normally in peaceful and democratic atmosphere in Kondovo and voter turnout is high. Polling stations in Tanusevci and Malina Maala where there were irregularities on June 1 have been opened on time today.
He has no information for violation of election process in 26 polling stations in Lipkovo, Kumanovo region. Larger police presence of police guarantees the security of election committees, Josifovski said.
