ST.KLIMENT RELIC GIVEN TO BULGARIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH
National.
"It is a great honor for our Church to receive this gift from the Macedonian Church," the Head of the Bulgarian Church, Nikolaj, said at the ceremony staged to welcome the arrival of a fraction of St. Kliment Ohridski's relic.
Macedonian Orthodox Church decided to present the Bulgarian Church with a particle removed from the hand of the corporal relic of the Pan-Slavic illuminator and founder of the Macedonian Church St. Kliment Ohridski.
The Metropolitan of Debar and Kicevo, Timotej, brought the relic to the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.
The particle of the relics will be kept in a small chest placed in front of the holly altar of the newly build temple St. Kliment Ohridski in Plovdiv, due to open tomorrow.
The relics of St. Kliment Ohridski are kept in the Ohrid's nearby monastery of St Pantelejmon.
MD: Why make such a gesture towards someone who is not even willing to recognize you?
[Mina]
That was a very nice thing to do. Hopefully, it will better relations between Macedonians and Bulgarians. This could also be very helpful in the Macedonian Orthodox Church's quest for recognition.
