Macedonian Minister of Culture Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska and Croatian counterpart Bozo Biskupic signed Monday in Skopje the Program for Cooperation in Culture 2009-2011.
"Macedonia and Croatia enjoy traditionally good long-standing cultural ties. We have realized exchanges of a number of exhibitions, whereas renowned Croatian artists have taken part at Macedonian international events, such as Ohrid Summer, Struga Poetry Evenings, Youth Open Theatre. This Program only confirms our wish for greater intensity and cooperation in the culture sector", said Minister Kanceska-Milevska after the signing ceremony.
Croatian colleague Biskupic stated that the Program has been signed as a result of the excellent bilateral political relations and the long-standing traditional cultural cooperation.
Interlocutors referred to cooperation at all levels, exchange of experts in digitization of cultural heritage, a number of projects, as well as support of programs by national minorities.
Kanceska-Milevska stressed that a majority of the projects, which were subject of the meeting, have been encompassed in the Annual Program of the Culture Ministry.
"These include several significant exhibitions in cooperation with the Zagreb and Skopje Museums. Moreover, we give full support to the Croatian associations", added the Minister.
