RUSSIAN GAS SUPPLIES TO MACEDONIA UNCERTAIN
National.
Russian natural gas is likely to flow into Macedonia late on Wednesday, Makpetrol said on Tuesday.
"We expect the pressure in the pipeline to reach the required level 36 hours after the launch of gas shipments," Makpetrol said.
However, the statement was released shortly before the breaking news from Ukraine, saying that Russian gas flow has been halted again.
Makpetrol confirmed that it was notified by the Moscow-based gas distributor Sojuzgaz-Export that Russia has begun pumping gas to Macedonian consumers this morning at 09:15 hrs.
Makpetrol immediately notified the country's consumers of natural gas to make sure that they wrap up the necessary preparations.
Russia's gas giant Gazprom resumed gas supplies to European consumers through Ukraine, six days after Russian-Ukrainian dispute left much of Europe without fuel.
