SUCCESSFUL ARCHEOLOGICAL YEAR, VINICKO KALE
Culture.
Last year’s exploration campaign of the Vinicko Kale (Vinica Fortress) turned out to be very prolific. Terra cotta icons, which archaeologists put back between the 4th and 6th centuries, depicting images from the Old Testament, David’s psalms and topic and images of saints, were unearthed.
Since 1985, archaeological teams have explored an area of 25,000 square meters in the Vinicko Kale in several campaigns. The artefacts unearthed speak of the life in this area 4,200 years ago.
