ARREST OF PRO-GREEK BLOGGER?

National.

Thanks to the hyperactive « Greek » lobby when it comes to Macedonia, the fabricated story about an arrest of a Macedonian ‘pro Greek’ blogger went all the way to Brussels.

After a PASOK party member accused Macedonia of ‘extreme nationalism’ using the supposed arrest of a ‘pro Greek” Macedonian citizen as an example, to not be outdone, the Greek “Pan Macedonia” organization sent a letter to Brussels to free up a member of the, as they put it “Slavic Philhellenic Network” in Macedonia and to force the country to put an end in their irredentist behavior towards Greece.

Upon hearing of the story, two Macedonian newspapers (Nova Makedonija, Dnevnik) investigated the case.
The men “arrested”, in fact wasn’t arrested and put in jail as Greece and :Pan Macedonia” claim, rather, the Skopje police took him to a psychiatric ward in the “Bardovci” hospital, after complaints from his family.
The so called Facebook blogger for months had been writing Anti Macedonian letters immediately becoming a hit with “Pan Macedonia”, Greek bloggers and Athens media.

According to the Skopje media, and his family, the blogger uses the following names: Vasko Malinkovski, Vasil Gligorov, Vasko Gligorijevic, Vasko Gligorov, Vasil Gligorievich.

His family members were outraged that Greece & “Pan Macedonia” had taken advantage of their ill son.
- We called in the police, my son is ill, he was taken to the hospital. This is the first time I hear that someone in Greece reacted that he was sent to hospital because of pro-Greek stand. I don’t know what he does on internet.

The psychiatric hospital Bardovci confirmed Vasil’s arrival.
Vasil’s neighbors spoke to the media and explained that police were called in two years ago because of his problems.
As Nova Makedonija and Dnevnik inform, the blogger himself had made up the story on Facebook that his apartment was being searched by police and he was being led out in handcuffs by police!?

It doesn’t end there. The popular social website Facebook is gathering signatures from Greek members asking for his release!
The Ministry of Interior issued a short notice that no blogger has ever been arrested in Macedonia for their views.
