MACEDONIA IN HONOUR TO ST.CYRIL

President Gjorge Ivanov lead the Macedonian state - church delegation that paid a visit on May 21 to 24 to Rome at the traditional event "Macedonia in Honour to St. Cyril."

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kancevska - Milevska participated at the event. Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church HH Stefan and Skopje's Bishop of Catholic Church Kiro Stojanov lead the church delegation. "Mother Teresa" humanitarian caravan led by Marjan Georgiev, who arrived to Rome by bicycle, joined the Macedonian delegation.

The annual event began with the concert of ethno band "Baklava." An exhibition of new editions entitled "Macedonia Through the Centuries" of the State Archives of Macedonia opened Friday and actor and director Petar Temelkovski performed his monodrama "Philip II."

Macedonian delegation on Friday had audience with the Pope Benedict XVI in Vatican.

Delegation on Saturday for the 41st time bowed on the tomb of Slavic Apostle St. Cyril in Rome. The prayer on the St. Cyril's tomb in San Clemente Church was held by the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church HH Stefan.
