DISAPPOINTING NEWS FROM THE EU

National.

The BBC reported that the European Commission will recommend next week that the Western Balkans countries postpone any moves towards joining the European Union.

The Commission report which was seen by the BBC is to be published next week. It says the countries cannot expect to join the EU in the short term, despite some progress and they are likely to join only in the medium to long term.

In the part referring to Macedonia, the report says the European Commission will say "not yet" to Macedonia's expectations to start the membership talks.
And it urges for speeding up the political reforms, fight corruption and improve relations with ethnic Albanians if it wants to move ahead with its EU bid, said the BBC.

MD: And Bulgaria is ready for joining? :)
