Macedonia is the leader in the region and wider in having so much women in the parliament. The Parliament has 120 members of which 37 of them are women.
It started in 2002 when for the first time the parliament got 23 female members, before that there were only 7.
"The process lasted a few years, we had much lobbying so the number of females increased as it should be" , said Parliamentarian and president of the commission, Liljana Popovska.
