MACEDONIA GOES HOME WITH VICTORY

Sports.

Macedonia went home with victory yesterday after defeating neighbour Albania with 1-0 in a friendly match played in Skadar.

Macedonian Stevica Ristic had a real dream debut after he scored his first goal for the nt and also the only goal in this game. Macedonia had several more chances in the Loro Borici stadium but could not make it into some more goals. Albania played very poorly with only one real chance of Armend Dallku who had a one on one with Goalkeeper Jane Nikoloski , but did not managed to equal the score.
Macedonian manager Srecko Katanec used this friendly game for testing several players, Polozani, Tasevski, Pacovski, Maznov and Jancevski got a chance in the second half.

Because of the awfull Italian referees, Srecko Katanec was complaining alot and in the '83 minute he even got a red card which meant he had to leave the pitch.

MD: The first half was very good, they were sharp, fast and had many chances, the second half was a bit harder, especially when Pandev was substituted. But the important thing is that Macedonia has won and that will make us all smile again for a while. As for the other teams in Macedonia's Euro 2008 qualifying group, Russia lost big time to the Netherlands last night, ending in a 4-1 win for the Dutch, England lost at home to Spain ending in a 0-1 score while Croatia managed to defeat Norway with 2-1.
