"FYROM", OFF THE UN AGENDA
National.
To solve the problem with the name of Macedonia is “of primary importance” in Skopje, the Greek newspaper Naftemporiki writes, quoting an interview of Branko Crvenkovski, the President of Macedonia, for Deutsche Welle. Asked whether he expects the problem to be worked out soon, Crvenkovski pointed out that his country wants the FYROM acronym off the UN agenda and the international relations of Macedonia.
The President stressed on the fact that three of the permanent members of the UN Security Council – the USA, Russia and China employ the constitutional name of Republic of Macedonia in their contacts with his country as well as with another 112 UN states.
“We will keep showing the truth because it is the strongest argument,” Crvenkovski also said.
