GREECE TO BUILD NEW BORDER CROSSING TOWARDS MACEDONIA
Regional.
An agreement for construction of new border crossing between Macedonia and Greece will be signed on Friday in Florina(Lerin), report Greek media.
According to announcements, "Niki" border crossing will be built near the village Niki, 17 kilometers north of Florina.
The project is envisaging construction of building and special eaves to facilitate checking of passengers and vehicles.
The budget for realization of this project is 4,9 million Euros, 75 % of which come from the special programme for local self-government (EPTA) and 25 % from the Greek government.
The construction is expected to finish before the end of 2009.
MD: Let them remove the provocative "Macedonia was always Greek" signs on the building too.

It is really hard to believe that just 50 years after the Civil war, and just 100 years after the occupation, we are forgetting the original Macedonian names of the places in the parts in Greece.
Лерин (Lerin) became Florina by law, the same way Негочани (Negochani) became Niki... Furthermore, Negochani is 100% inhabited by Macedonians and it is a pity that we are trying to get their name from them.
As I pointed out Makfax as an origin of this news article, please write to them at makfax@makfax.com.mk and kindly ask them to carefuly use the original names for Macedonian places.

You are right, it is. We added the Macedonian name for Lerin but did not do so for Negochani. We will in the future!
Yours sincerely

I've got a question for you Mr Kupe: What is original Macedonian name, "Solun" or Thessaloniki? Pella or "Postol"? "Aleksandar" or Alexandros?
Dear Mr know-it-all, Antigonos Monophtalmos or Antigon "Ednook", Ptolemy Euergetes or Ptolemy "Dobrodetel"?
Which are the "original Macedonian names", the Slavic ones or the Greek ones?
