THIRD MOBILE CARRIER COULD LOSE LICENCE

National.

The third mobile carrier in Macedonia , the VIP network, part of Mobilkom, Austria, has to start operating this month. But at a press conference last week, the management of the company refused to answer questions about the prices and the services that the company would offer, the Macedonian daily Vecer informed. The company only said that prices were not the most important thing.

The main motive of the Macedonian Government to make a tender for a third carrier were increasing competition and thus lowering the prices of mobile services. Back then Mobilkom Austria offered competitive prices, half as low as the current prices for the period.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications warned that in case Mobilkom Austria and correspondingly VIP do not implement their concrete engagements for lower prices, their license could be suspended.

MD: Mobilkom Austria will enter Macedonia under the name, VIP, just like in Croatia and Serbia.
