UK URGES MACEDONIA TO SHOW POLITICAL MATURITY
Political criteria and cooperation between the government and opposition are essential for the speed rate of the Euro-Atlantic integrations of Macedonia, official London stated today.
At the meeting with the Macedonian Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki, who is paying the first official visit to UK, the British Minister for Europe Jim Murphy said: "I expressed clearly our hopes that the Government and all parties in Macedonia would work together in a spirit of political maturity to allow accelerated progress in the Euro-Atlantic integrations. This will be essential if Macedonia wants to achieve its ambition and receive an early date for start of accession negotiations and join NATO at the Bucharest Summit in spring 2008".
Murphy expressed content of the meeting with Milososki, adding that Great Britain remains a strong supporter of the Macedonia's Euro-Atlantic integrations "once all necessary requirements are met".
The two Ministers discussed also some regional issues, including the resolution of the final status of Kosovo.
